.: The Auction House :.
Ah, the Neopian Auction House. Here, you can
auction off items and bid on any that you may like.

"Welcome to the Neopian Auction House!"
Basics
-
There are two different kinds of auctions. The 'NeoFriend
Only' type and the normal kind. If an item says the initials, 'NF' by it,
that means only neofriends of the owner of the item may bid on the item. If it
doesn't say that by it, anyone can bid.
-
You cannot withdraw any bids you may have put on any
auctioned items.
-
You cannot take an item out of the auctions.
Different Pages
-
Auctions 1-20 - Here is where the auctions that have
that have the least time left before they're over go. This page is useful for
'Auction Snipers'. Auction Snipers are people who wait until there's a few
seconds or minutes left before the auction is over. Then they bid on it at the
least second an snag it for themselves.
-
My Auctioned Items - This page just lists the items
you've auctioned off and its highest bidder.
-
My Bids - This page shows the items you've bid on
and its highest bidder.
-
The Auction Genie - Here you can search for items in
the auctions by name or username. If you check the box by 'Ignore Neofriend Only
Auctions', then it won't show any items that are Neofriend only.

-
Help - This page is simply a place where it shows
custom made questions about the Auction House along with some answers.
-
Status - Here you can see how many items and
neopoints are left to be exchanged between players. If the number is high, then
it may take a little more time for your items/neopoints to be exchanged. The
maximum time is an hour, but it's unlikely this will happen. if it does, then
just be patient and play a game or something.
Auctioning Items
To auction an item, go to your
inventory and click on the item you want to auction. Then open up the drop-down
menu and click on, "Put up for Auction!" This will open up a window like the one
below. For this guide I'll be using a Kew Codestone as an example.

You can choose what you want the price to start as,
the minimum increment value, the auction length, and if you want it to be
neofriends only or not. Here are what they all mean:
-
Start Price - This is the price that the item will start out as.
For example, if you typed in, "20000", then the item's price would start out as
20,000 neopoints until someone bid on it.
-
Minimum Increment - Here, you put in the least value you want
people to bid on your item. Well, maybe that's too confusing. I'll give you an
example. If the item is at 23,000, and the minimum bid increment is 5, then the
least amount of neopoints you can bid is 23,005. Or if it was at 1,000, then the
least you could bid would be is 24,000 neopoints.
-
Auction Length - This is pretty much self-explanatory. Just
simply select how long you want your auction to last. Here are the possible
lengths: One Hour, Two Hours, Three Hours, Four Hours, Six Hours, Nine Hours,
Twelve Hours, Eighteen Hours, One Day and Two Days.
-
Neofriends Only? - If you check this box only your neofriends
are allowed to bid on it.
Browsing the Auctions
This is pretty much all explained
above. Use the Auction Genie to search for items, click on the cheapest one...
blah, blah, blah.
Miscellaneous Info
-
If you bid on items, you can bid up to 5,000
neopoints plus the bid increment. So if the item was 100,000 neopoints,
and the bid increment is 1,000, then you could bid up to 106,000 neopoints!
-
Some rare items such as Lab Map pieces, Nerkmids,
and other things are often rather cheap in the Auction House.
