.: Cat Care :.
Have you been
neglecting your cat by leaving it in the bank? Just because you aren't sure what
to feed it? Well worry no more our Cat Care Guide is here!
Basics
After completing the Gertrude's
Cat Quest, Gertrude actually gives you a kitten as a reward for the quest.
There are multiple colored kittens that you can get, including blue & gray,
white, brown & gray, and black & gray, among others.
Needed Supplies
Before
you get your kitten there are things you must make sure you have. This includes
a bucket of milk and some fish that can include of the following.
- Shrimp
- Anchovies
- Sardine
- Salmon
- Trout
- Tuna
- Karambwanji
NOTE: Kittens don't like
Seasoned Sardines!
Of
course your kitten loves to play. Unless you want it's happiness to be low you
must play with it. How can you do this without a ball of wool? It is a must for
a happy kitten! You can shear sheep and spin the wool into a ball of wool!
Raising
a Kitten
Once you have the above items it's time to get your kitten! You can talk
to Gertrude to get your kitten. Your kitten will wander around with you,
but first you'll need to let him out of your backpack first by dropping
it. You kitten is slow and will sometimes get stuck. Don't worry, once
it gets of your mini-map it will popup next to you! |
 |
After you drop it
for the first time its usually hungry. Feed it some of the fish mentioned above
or use a bucket of milk on it. You should often Stroke your kitten by
right-clicking on it, choosing the "Interact-With" option and then
selecting the "Stroke" option. It will make him like you, this is a
must! Just make sure to do this often and you'll be ok!
You can also play
with your kitten by using a Ball of Wool with it. He'll roll around on the
ground, pawing at the ball. It's his favorite toy, so be sure that you play with
him often.
Grown-Up
Cats
In about 2 hours of playing with your kitten dropped on the ground it
will grow into a cat! It doesn't need to be fed fish anymore! It will
still drink milk though (you can never have enough milk!) They also
still enjoy to play with balls of wool as much as when they were
kittens! Even though you can have your kitten catch Rats, it will often
fail (because it's only a kitten). Now you have a grown-up Cat, which is
more agile than a kitten, so he generally has an easier time catching
them. |
 |
When you're near a
small level 1 Rat, right-click on your Cat, choose the "Interact-With"
option, and then the "Chase Vermin" option to have your Cat try and
kill it. A great way to catch these is in Lumbridge, as there aren't many people
here.
If he successfully catches it, the Rat will disappear. But if the Rat escapes,
just try again. For a cool reward, just catch 100 Rats and talk to Gertrude and
she will give you a Cat Training Medal. The medal doesn't have any special
characteristics, although it shows that you're a good Cat trainer! You can have
your Cat traded in for 100 Death Runes from a man in West Ardougne, but you must
have already completed the Biohazard Quest before doing so.
Overgrown
Cats
After about 2 hours of caring for your Cat, it will grown into an
Overgrown Cat (uh-oh, it looks like someone's been eating too much).
Like a regular Cat, an Overgrown one will not eat fish, but it will
drink Milk and play with it's favorite Ball of Wool. These cats attempt
to catch rats but their massive weight slows them down! |
 |
Once you cat turns
into an overgrown cat you can buy another one from Gertrude for 100 *gp! Now you
can have fun all over again!
Hellcats
You
can turn your cat into a Hellcat by having it eat 7 Hell-mice in the Recipe for
Disaster Quest in the Evil Dave part! To turn it back to normal, just feed it
milk.
