.: The Combat Triangle :.
The
Combat Triangle is essential to whether you survive or die in the wilderness or
just fighting NPCs. Here are the basics.
Warrior (Melee)- As you can see, Warriors have an advantage over Rangers, and a
disadvantage to Mages. A Ranger's arrows cannot pierce body armor all that well, making it hard to defeat a
Warrior. Melee's swords also slash right through the
leather like butter. Warriors have a disadvantage to Mages because Mages'
magical attacks are actually magnified when they hit the body armor.
Mage
(Magic)- A Mage has an advantage over Warriors and a disadvantage over a Ranger. As
stated above Mages' magical attacks are magnified by Melee armor. Mages also
have an unfortunate disadvantage to Rangers. Rangers' arrows pierce Mage robes
like pin cushions! Not only that, but Rangers' leather armour actually absorbs
magic attacks! Reducing a Mage's attack power. Thus making a Mage weak to a
Ranger.
Ranger (Ranged)- Rangers are strong against Mages and weak against
Warriors. Their arrows are hardly able to pierce Melee armor. Not only that but
a Melee sword
slashes through Ranger's leather armor like butter. A Ranger is strong against a
Mage because their arrows pierce Mage's robes like a pin cushion. Their leather
armor also absorbs most of Mages magical attacks.
Note- The
combat triangle does not always determine who would win. For example, if a level
70 mage fights a level 10 ranger, who's going to win?
